The 2015 Speen cultural festival is being supported once again by the jml Insurance online promotional insurance site.
The picturesque Buckinghamshire Chilterns village holds a festival every two years. The 2015 festival will be held between the 6th and 20th September and ending on the 15th. The festival origins come from 1999 when the Speen Millennium Pageant was held charting the history of the village. Since then it has been held every two years and this year the programme extended to two weeks.
There is normally a musical production and 2015 is no exception with The Railway Children being performed. This time to make all the village look more festive, the local population has been encouraged to hang out bunting, make scarecrow characters dressed as railway staff and passengers and create themes for outside their home like railway signals, carriages etc. As the nights will be drawing in earlier by the start of the festival, villagers are also being asked to put out their Christmas lights as well.
