Direct Travel Insurance now insures Channel island residents
03/04/2009
Direct Travel Insurance announced that it is now offering cover to Channel Island residents travelling to the UK or worldwide. It is one of the only travel insurance providers to offer cover to the residents of Guernsey, Alderney, Jersey, Sark and Herm.
With the reciprocal arrangements between the mainland health authorities and those on the Channel Islands coming to an end today (1 April 2009), tourists on both sides (Channel island residents visiting the UK and UK visitors to the Channel Islands) need to ensure they have adequate travel insurance as medical costs will no longer be free of charge.
Direct Travel Insurance offers a five-day Gold Standard UK Single Trip insurance for £2.98 or £3.50* per person, including:
£10 Million medical cover
£1,500 personal possessions cover
£3,000 cancellation and curtailment cover
£500 personal money cover

* Due to a lower Insurance Premium Tax, Channel Island residents would pay £2.98 and UK residents £3.50 for the same level of cover
