Daily Excess Reimbursement Insurance

For just £4.75 per day, dailyexcess.com protects you against Excess charges worldwide, whenever and wherever you rent a car.

Most car rental companies charge an Excess when you have an accident – sometimes as high as £1,000. Often they will offer to sell you their own Excess insurance, but buying over the counter can cost you up to £12 per day. Our policy is only £4.75 per day and offers you full protection. What’s more, we provide cover for window and tyre damage, excluded from most alternative policies.

HOW IT WORKS
We insure the Policy Holder, not the rental vehicle. Excess is a voluntary insurance. Decline the car rental company’s Excess cover at the counter when you collect the car. If the car is damaged or stolen, the car rental company will charge your credit card for the Excess amount and you then claim for reimbursement on your Policy.

BENEFITS:
• Cover Excess on damage to the rented vehicle, Excess on theft
• Covers damage to windows, tyres, undercarriage & the roof
• Valid worldwide: can be used at all car rental locations and with all car rental companies
• Covers the policy holder & all additional drivers
• You choose the start date (up to 6 months in advance)

CONDITIONS APPLICABLE
• Drivers must be aged 21-74 years
• Valid up to a maximum of 62 days

Insurance4carhire.com's car rental Excess comparative site

The site shows the Excess amounts charged by the major car rental companies, as well as the daily rates they charge to reduce the Excess.

The information was compiled during April 2007 by Insurance4carhire staff calling each car rental company's airport location at the international airport in the capital city of each country - more than 180 locations in total - and the costs are based on the daily cost of excess for a compact size car.

The survey was conducted in more than 30 countries across Europe, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, USA and Canada. The car rental companies surveyed are: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and National

It clearly and simply shows the consumer:

What their exposure is to Excess on their rental - information that is often hidden and very difficult to get even when you call the car rental location

  • What it will cost them to take the car rental company's own Excess cover
  • What the car rental company's own cover excludes - generally damage to windows, tyres, the undercarriage and the roof.
  • Compares the car rental company's charges to insurance4carhire's prices, based on our Daily Policy, and illustrates the saving.
